PARENT SESSION: Transition to Middle School & Writing Support

This is a session dedicated to families, who are approaching middle school. Therefore, this is for rising 6th-grade parents. I will focus on some of the social-emotional changes, class changes, and new expectations that take place as students begin a new and exciting chapter. I will provide ideas on how to support your middle schooler throughout the transition and most of all, I will speak a great deal about to how continue to nurture their literacy growth. I look forward to sharing tips on giving students writing feedback and how to grow their vocabulary and reading skills.

The recommended cost is $50.

PARENT SESSION: Discovering the College Personal Statement & Supplemental Essays

This session is to support parents and guardians as their students write and work through the personal statement as well as supplemental essay questions. There will be examples of strong personal statements and supplemental essay questions, and there will also be examples of ones that need improvement. This session will help parents to know what to look for as they read their student’s writing and will also guide parents in how to give feedback. You will walk away with knowledge of what students should have in their writing pieces and what they should avoid.

STUDENT SESSION: Writing for College Admissions

This session is geared towards rising high school seniors, who are in the midst of writing their personal statements. This session will focus on the heart and soul of the personal statement essay as well as provide helpful tips for creative ways to write your piece. I will also provide examples of strong personal statements and ones that need improvement. Additionally, we will speak about the supplemental essay questions as well. I cannot wait to support you in your journey!
